Do you have enough PEE's in your work?

A good indicator whether you like it durably in your job is when the content of your work leads you minimally once a day to a PEE: Positive Emotional Experience. Just for a while the thought: 'What a beautiful job do I have...'

People who experience enough PEE's will be more succesful in their work. That led management consultant Mathieu Weggeman to the hypothesis:

Success = good (effective in process and result) + beautiful

Beautiful means that during or after ending a task there is a form of thrill/emotion. When such an emotion is present in a team then less explicit alignment is needed. A nice example is Leonard Bernstein, who succeeded a few times a year in not having to conduct because he rehearsed so well with the members of the orchestra that they themselves where completely in contact with the composer and didn't need the conductor as a link anymore.

But you don't need to conduct a famous orchestra to experience beauty. Beauty can also be experienced in small things. Ask yourself what was the last moment when you experienced beauty in success. A situation in your work of which you can say:

*That was a beautiful and good job

*That was a beautiful process we experienced together and finished succesfully

*On this we worked with pleasure and success

Can you talk about it in a way that the other is touched by the beauty that is enclosed in your example? I think that when you are aware of this it can help you to increase the number of PEE's in your work. Count your blessings!
